We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Embroidery Skills Trainer to lead engaging, hands-on workshops that teach a variety of traditional and contemporary hand embroidery techniques. The trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive educational programs that cater to participants of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners. The position requires a deep understanding of embroidery craftsmanship, as well as the ability to teach these techniques in an accessible and motivating way.
A central aspect of this role is working with youth from underprivileged communities, particularly those living in conflict zones. The trainer will help empower these individuals by providing them with valuable skills that promote self-expression, creativity, and future employment opportunities. The trainer will create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, adapting their teaching style to the unique needs and backgrounds of the participants.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering curriculum focused on various hand embroidery techniques.
- Leading practical, hands-on training sessions.
- Providing personalized guidance to participants to help them develop their embroidery skills.
- Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for youth from diverse and underprivileged backgrounds.
- Adapting the training to be relevant and beneficial to participants in conflict-affected areas.
- Encouraging self-expression, creativity, and personal growth through embroidery.
- Completing weekly evaluations on the technical development of trainees.
- Writing monthly reports on the progress and development of both the sessions and participants.
- Attending meetings when necessary to discuss progress, challenges, and improvements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both embroidery techniques and teaching, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by youth in conflict or underprivileged settings. A compassionate and patient approach, along with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners, is essential.
