MHPSS Facilitator (Disaster Response Project- Beirut & Tripoli)

The MHPSS Facilitator will be responsible for delivering group activities for children, youth and caregivers focusing on prevention, resilience, and protection interventions. S/he will work closely with at-risk children and youth to strengthen their life skills, personal resilience, and provide essential psychosocial support.

The MHPSS Facilitator will utilize their knowledge and practical skills to carry out focused psychosocial support (PSS) activities with children and caregivers survival of war and  at high risk of vulnerability in Beirut (Mount Lebanon) and Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, ensuring alignment with both individual organizational and interagency guidelines. The primary aim of this role is to enhance the resilience of the most vulnerable children youth and their caregivers through well-structured psychosocial support activities.

These activities will be designed and implemented to have a meaningful and positive impact on children , youth and their caregivers , promoting their well-being and helping them develop the coping mechanisms necessary to navigate difficult circumstances. The MHPSS Facilitator’s work will play a crucial role in fostering long-term resilience and well-being for SOS targeted groups of vulnerable families .

 

Aims of position are to:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate psychosocial activities for children youth and caregivers when needed.

• Strengthening and improving the resilience and wellbeing of targeted groups at risk.

• Ensure that all beneficiaries participate in the activities that are non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate.

• Ensure that parents and caregivers receive frequent feedback about their child’s participation during the sessions.

• Work directly with Project team members in order to develop intervention, plans and follow up.

• Ensure that the children/youth/ Caregivers feel safe, comfortable and respected all the time,

 


Child Safeguarding (CS)

Responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children and young people from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination

Ensures strong focus on CS prevention by organising informal and formal discussions, workshopcs and other capacity buildings activities for children and young people to make them understand the CS risks and proection mechanisms 

Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the CS team at programme level and/or to the respective line manager
