Job Purpose:
The HR Assistant supports the effective functioning of the Human Resources Department by handling administrative and clerical tasks related to recruitment, personnel filing, employee support, and data entry. The role contributes to ensuring compliance with Lebanese labor law and Hand’s internal policies while promoting an inclusive and responsive HR environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist in preparing and publishing job advertisements.
- Screen resumes and schedule interviews in coordination with hiring managers.
- Prepare recruitment files and track progress.
- Support onboarding procedures including documentation, orientation, and induction schedules.
2. HR Administration & Filing
- Maintain and regularly update employee files (physical and digital).
- Manage leave records, timesheets, and attendance tracking.
3. Payroll & Compensation Support
- Collect and verify monthly timesheets.
- Support the HR Coordinator with payroll preparation and reporting.
- Ensure accurate documentation related to salaries, benefits, and deductions.
4. Employee Relations & Staff Support
- Act as a point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.
- Assist in implementing employee engagement and well-being activities.
- Participate in team-building events and internal HR initiatives.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure HR procedures comply with Lebanese labor law and donor regulations.
- Support audits and verification processes through accurate documentation.
- Assist in preparing HR reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar HR or administrative role (NGO experience is an asset).
- Familiarity with recruitment, contracts, payroll, and HR systems.
- Experience using HRIS (e.g., ODoo) is a strong plus.
