Senior Security Focal point

LOST is seeking to recruit a Senior Security Focal Point.

Position Summary:

The Senior Security Focal Point is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of organizational security within a designated area of operations. This role involves assessing security risks, implementing security protocols, and advising senior leadership on matters related to safety and crisis management. The position ensures the safety of personnel, assets, and operations in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Management & Coordination
    • Serve as the primary contact for all security-related matters in the organization or specific field offices.
    • Lead development and implementation of security management plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Coordinate with field teams, UN agencies, NGOs, and government entities on security updates and incident reporting.
  • Risk Assessment & Analysis
    • Conduct regular threat and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
    • Provide real-time situational analysis and guidance to leadership.
    • Monitor local and regional security developments, and maintain intelligence networks.
  • Training & Capacity Building
    • Train staff on security awareness, travel safety, personal security, and crisis response.
    • Build the capacity of field-level Security Focal Points and ensure consistent knowledge dissemination.
  • Crisis Management & Incident Response
    • Lead or support the response to critical incidents, including evacuations, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
    • Ensure that incident reporting and after-action reviews are conducted promptly and thoroughly.
  • Policy Development & Compliance
    • Participate in organizational policy updates and input on global or regional security strategy.
 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a security management role.
 

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong risk assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of international humanitarian security protocols and principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in high-stress environments.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
