Education Program Coordinator

Background
Under Amel’s crisis response program and in coordination with the education program team, the education coordinator will be responsible of the overall coordination of several projects, ensuring the representation of the Amel’s education program while sustaining and developing multiple projects.

The Education coordinator will work in close collaboration with other Education program’s team, the Programs’ ; Partnerships Coordinator and other relevant colleagues from support, sector and management departments.

The project coordinator will be based in Beirut with regular field visits to the projects sites.

Main responsibilities

Responsibility #1: Ensure Internal coordination
1.a) The Education coordinator is in charge of the coordination between the different members in the education department: project coordinators, learning development coordinator and officer, M&E officers and field coordinators. He/she is responsible for ensuring the smooth coordination through regular team meetings and other coordination tools;
1.b) He/She responsible of the coordination with the program’s and partnership’s coordinator, facilitates the collaboration with other Amel’s sectors (CP, Protection, Health, GBV, etc.) and supports the development of linkages between them (see point 5.c);
1.c) He/She is responsible for reporting on the education program’s achievements for internal purposes (quarterly reports, activity report, etc.).

Responsibility #2: Oversee External coordination
2.a) He/She coordinates and liaises with local/regional education authorities, NGOs, private sector actors and other international partners including UN agencies on all education program activities (Partners’ meetings, working groups, task teams, etc.);
2.b) He/She collects information from project coordinators to report on the coordination tools (5Ws, Inter agency mapping, EOI issued by MEHE, etc.);
2.c) He/She identifies new stakeholders for collaboration (training sessions, referrals, activities’ implementation, etc.), develops and sustains the current partnerships to complement the response to the identified needs.

Responsibility #3 Develop Partnerships
3.a) He/ She monitors the calls for proposals for potential Education projects in Lebanon;
3.b) He/She contributes to fundraising, coordinates, develops and supports drafting of proposals and budgets with the programs’ & partnerships’ coordinator and the education projects’ coordinators;
3.c) He/She contributes to sustain and develop the current partnerships of the education program (donors’ reports).

Responsibility #4 Create Procedures
4.a) He/She creates and monitors procedures for the implementation of the education projects (vulnerability assessment, induction, etc.) following Amel’s policies;
4.b) He/She collaborates with M&E officers for developing an M&E framework for the Education program (standardized indicators, harmonized means of verification, etc.);
4.c) He/ She contributes in designing reporting and evaluation tools to ensure the adequacy with M&E framework, donors’ requirements and projects’ specificities.

Responsibility #5 Facilitate Capacity building
5.a) He/She is responsible of mapping of the needs across the projects in collaboration with the education specialist and the project coordinators for improving quality of education services;

5.b) He/She facilitates the internal capacity building among the projects’ teams members (regular meetings, experience sharing, etc.);
5.c) He/She coordinates with other Amel’s sectors (CP, GBV, Health, etc.) to benefit from internal resources (both ways) and external stakeholders (2.c), notably to ensure protection mainstreaming across the education projects.

Responsibility #6 Improve Visibility & Advocacy
6.a) He/She collaborates with the Amel’s communication department to promote the achievements of the Amel’s education program;
6.b) He/She conceptualizes and formulates the lessons’ learned across the program and work with the communication department to spread them (programmatic level);
6.c) He/She facilitates the dissemination of awareness messages to promote the right to education mobilizing the education teams and the communication department.


Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Managament, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in education / program coordination                                                                                                                               
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities                                                                                                                                         
• Knowledge of the education standards and frameworks                                                                                                                                                         
• Proven experience managing educational projects
