Fundraising Officer

1. Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies aligned with Ghawth’s mission and programs

Design and execute short- and long-term fundraising plans that support Ghawth’s humanitarian and emergency response goals. This includes setting realistic financial targets, identifying strategic priorities, and ensuring that fundraising efforts align with the organization’s core values and programmatic focus areas such as disaster relief, refugee support, health, and education.

2. Identify and engage potential donors, partners, and sponsors (individuals, corporates, foundations, etc.)

Conduct stakeholder mapping and outreach to cultivate relationships with institutional donors (UN agencies, international NGOs, embassies), corporate sponsors, philanthropic individuals, and local businesses. This includes preparing introductory materials, scheduling meetings, and attending relevant forums or networking events to promote Ghawth’s work.

3. Prepare high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, and donor reports in coordination with program and MEAL teams

Collaborate with program staff to draft compelling, data-backed proposals that reflect community needs and highlight Ghawth’s capacity and impact. Coordinate with the MEAL team to integrate monitoring frameworks, indicators, and evaluation tools. Ensure all donor reports—both narrative and financial—are timely, accurate, and aligned with donor guidelines.

4. Maintain and update a donor database, ensuring accurate records of interactions, donations, and communication history

Utilize donor management software or spreadsheets to track interactions, proposal submissions, grant cycles, and contact details. Maintain clear and organized records of donor preferences, correspondence, pledged amounts, and follow-up schedules to ensure timely and personalized communication.

5. Coordinate and execute fundraising campaigns (digital, events, community-based) to maximize outreach and impact

Design and launch targeted campaigns across platforms, email, social media, websites, SMS, and events to attract individual contributions and public support. This includes setting campaign goals, managing logistics, creating visual and written content, and evaluating results post-campaign for learning and improvement.

6. Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular analysis and reporting to the management team

Develop dashboards or monthly reports that analyze performance metrics such as donor retention, campaign ROI, funding gaps, and pipeline health. Share strategic insights with the Executive Director and senior management to inform decision-making and adjust strategies where needed.

7. Ensure compliance with donor requirements and support audits or evaluations related to grants or funding

Review donor agreements and ensure all terms—including reporting schedules, branding requirements, and financial accountability—are met. Support external audits or evaluations by organizing supporting documents, contracts, and communication records in coordination with finance and MEAL teams.

8. Represent Ghawth at meetings, conferences, and fundraising events when needed

Attend donor briefings, humanitarian coordination meetings, or conferences to showcase Ghawth’s work and expand its funding network. Deliver presentations, distribute materials, and maintain a professional presence that reflects the organization’s values and credibility.

9. Work closely with the communications team to produce compelling fundraising materials and donor communications

Collaborate on storytelling, impact reports, donor newsletters, brochures, and social media content that highlight beneficiary stories, program outcomes, and funding needs. Ensure messages are clear, emotionally resonant, and tailored to the intended donor audience.

10. Explore new funding opportunities, including grants, CSR partnerships, and innovative financing methods

Stay informed about emerging trends in humanitarian financing, such as impact investing, blockchain donations, or cause-marketing partnerships. Proactively explore corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and develop tailored proposals for strategic alliances with the private sector.
