Mercy Corps exists to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping build secure, productive and just communities. Our programs focus on four outcome areas across the humanitarian-development nexus: economic opportunities, access to food, water security and peace and good governance. The Mercy Corps Lebanon team consists of over 50 staff working throughout Mount Lebanon, South Lebanon, North Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

 

In this context, the Operations Department delivers efficient support services across IT, logistics, asset management, warehousing, and fleet to enable safe, compliant, and high-impact programming. The Senior IT & Logistics Officer ensures functional infrastructure and systems to support program delivery across Mercy Corps’ offices in Lebanon.

 

The Position

The Senior IT & Logistics Officer is responsible for managing Mercy Corps Lebanon’s IT systems and supporting core logistics functions including fleet, warehousing, and asset management. This position ensures reliable IT support and upholds data security, while also supporting operational readiness and efficiency in the field.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Information Technology

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to staff in Beirut and field offices, responding to IT service tickets and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of LAN/WAN networks, servers, and internet systems.
  • Ensure endpoint security, data protection, and compliance with MC global IT policies.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and licenses, ensuring documentation and renewal of warranties and subscriptions.
  • Lead on-boarding of new staff on IT systems (email, VPN, SharePoint, device use).
  • Serve as the IT focal point for system migrations or global rollouts (e.g., Office 365, SharePoint, Device Management).

 

Logistics

  • Act as the Asset Controller and manages Mercy Corps’ asset registry, ensuring timely tagging, updating, and disposals in line with policies.
  • Oversee fleet coordination, including driver schedules, vehicle maintenance, and fuel tracking.
  • Support warehouse management and material handling as needed.

 

Other Duties

  • Actively integrate safeguarding principles into daily work, including identifying and mitigating safeguarding risks.
  • Uphold and promote Mercy Corps' core values at all times.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and personally to bring credit to Mercy Corps and maintain its humanitarian mission.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Accountability

Reports Directly To: Multi-Country Senior Operations Manager

Works Directly With: All Lebanon Programs and Support teams, Regional & Global teams.

 

Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders

Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in ICT support and logistics roles, preferably in humanitarian or INGO context.
  • Advanced knowledge of network systems, data security, troubleshooting, and Microsoft environment (O365, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Experience managing fleet and/or logistics operations.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Internal or former Mercy Corps staff are highly encouraged to apply.
