Focused Psychosocial Support Facilitator for Children

The Focused Psychosocial Support Facilitator for will be responsible for conducting eight sessions per group across nine groups, totaling 72 sessions, as part of the FSF Program .The Focused Psychosocial Support Facilitator will be responsible for conducting eight sessions per group (across nine groups) as part of the FSF Program in the Nabatiye district.
As part of their responsibilities, the PSS Facilitator for children must ensure compliance with FSF’s international and donor-related administrative, financial, safety and security, human resources, and logistical procedures in the workplace

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To implement Focused PSS and Child Protection activities targeting children with at risk, of which Psychological First Aid
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and supervise individual or group psychosocial support activities at
  • FSF where children can receive appropriate and confidential assistance
  • Lead implementation of PSS activities focused on: psychoeducation sessions to survivors, building support network for community reintegration, building confidence and skills
  •  To develop and report in written a detailed weekly activity plan, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries. 
  •  To ensure that the children have the opportunity to participate in designing the activity, to express themselves and to be heard.
  •  To ensure that the children are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work both together and in gender-based groups
  • In dealing with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion), to understand the reason behind the behavior and to try as much as possible to involve the other participants as a resource to solve the problem. 
  • Identify other areas of need and ensure that referrals for additional support are taken forward including emotional support, case management, legal support, cash assistance and mental health services
  •  To facilitate and monitor the children’s participation to the activities. 
  •  To monitor child progress, identify children in need and refer special cases to the caseworkers and the team leader as soon as identified.
  • To Facilitate the assessment of psychosocial needs in collaboration with program
  • Management such as rapid assessments and assist in identifying and providing a wide range of support mechanisms covering short-term interventions and referrals
  • To report in case of any kind of abuse leader.
  •  Utilize appropriate PSS and recreational kit materials, subjects, teaching methods, for the respective community, gender, and age group
  • To plan and request the material needed for the activities to the FSF Logistics team
  • To be responsible for the proper use and basic maintenance of the PSS materials and the location’s facility.
  • To participate in the trainings provided by FSF or other partner Organization.
  • To participate in the meetings whenever necessary.
  • To work in a close collaboration with the team in the drafting, implementation and follow-up of the activities.
  •  To prepare report per group
  •  To comply with the FSF Code of Conduct and Visibility standards. 
  •  Any other task relevant to the position.

Education/ Experiance :

 

  • Relevant University degree in relation to the position. Psychology, Social Work
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a PSS Facilitator, Case Manager,
  • Psychologist, or similar role in an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) 
  • Familiar with Humanitarian Principles and standards

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with children of different age groups and adults
  • Good language skills (speaking and writing); knowledge of beneficiary languages
  • Computer literate especially in Microsoft Office packages
