Psychosocial Support Facilitator with Caregivers

The Psychosocial Support (PSS) Facilitator possesses the knowledge and practical skills required to implement psychosocial support activities with parents and caregivers. These activities will be conducted in accordance with both organizational and interagency guidelines. The ultimate goal of the caregiver sessions is to promote the resilience and well-being of children by enhancing the well-being and positive parenting practices of their parents and caregivers. The assignment will be carried out over a period of 32 days.

Responsibilities:

1- Planning and implementation responsibilities:

  • Implement the sessions on a periodical manner and evaluate each session with the caregivers.
  • Revise sessions according to each feedback/evaluation, and constantly adapt approaches and
  • exercises with the CP officer and project coordinator for follow up.
  • Ensure any specific organization assessment tools are implemented where applicable.

2- Facilitation responsibilities:

  • Ensure the use of good facilitation skills that make caregivers feel comfortable, safe and
  • Enhance their participation and personal development.
  • Ensure that caregivers are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activity andthat they feel safe and respected.
  • Ensure participation of caregivers in the program in a non-discriminatory, and gender sensitiveappropriate approach.
  • Respect and Abide to the organization’s internal code of conduct and childprotection/safeguarding policy.

3- Reporting and Referring:

  • Report any medium/high risk cases to the FSF PSEA focal point who will then refer to the appropriate agencies
  • Submit report per group (4 groups).

Education/Experience:

  • Relevant University degree in Social work, psychology, social science, education, and any other relevant domains.
  • Have experience working with parents, community and children.
  • Experience in facilitation skills. Experience and knowledge in Humanitarian field.
  • Familiar with Humanitarian Principles and standards.

Skills:

  • Should be motivated and flexible.
  • Should have good communication skills.
