Financial Coordinator

Responsibilities: • Budgeting: Support the preparation of project budgets. • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenditures. • Identify overspent and underspent amounts and inform the NFS Manager of any deviations. • Recommend and implement budget revisions to reallocate funds and optimize resource utilization. • Financial Reporting: Review of project financial reports for accuracy and completeness. • Prepare and submit financial reports and all required supporting documentation according to each donor's specific criteria and deadlines. • Document Control: Maintain control of all project’s official documents and annexes, ensuring proper filing and accessibility. • Stay informed about all required supporting documentation for various projects and donors. • Transaction Management: Assign appropriate cost codes to all financial transactions. • Review supporting documentation for all transactions to ensure compliance. • Collaboration and Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial communications with partners and donors, in coordination with the Financial Controller and the NFS department. • Provide support for the accounting team with daily tasks as needed. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in similar finance and/or document control roles, preferably in a non-profit or grant-funded environment. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and relevant regulations. • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. • Fluency in English or French (written and spoken). • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads efficiently. • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
