Akkarouna, a women-led, non-governmental organization, operating within North and Akkar governorates in Lebanon, aims and commits to achieve socio-economic growth through the empowerment of women, children, and youth by building their capacities, enhancing community networks, and implementing development projects, ensuring gender mainstreaming and spreading awareness on different key topics. Over the past years, Akkarouna has operated its programs following 6 main pillars: Protection, Social Stability, Governance, Health, Education and Livelihood. These sectors are complemented by the Emergency Response Unit responsible for preparing and responding to any emergency within Lebanon.

Scope of the Technical Training:

Akkarouna seeks a private technical school within the areas of Hrar and its surroundings to implement vocational training courses targeting vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian participants, with a focus on professional and technical skills. These training courses, identified through a labor market assessment, consider factors such as market growth potential, gender suitability, education level, nationality, and beneficiary mobility. The training course should be around 80 hours and have theoretical and practical experience.

Training Sectors Required – Final selection of sectors will be based on trainees' profiles and interest:

• Bakery
• Food Preparation (e.g., dry food, Commis chef, food safety)
• Home-based Dairy (e.g., Lebanese dairy, international cheeses)
• Clothing and Textile
• Construction and Household Maintenance
• Maintenance (e.g., mechanics, electronics, solar panel installation)
• Information and Communication Technology (e.g., social media management, advanced programming)
• Agriculture (e.g., home gardens, mushroom growth, greenhouse agriculture)
• Furniture and Carpentry Industry
• Hospitality (e.g., working in restaurants, hotels, tourism)
• Beauty (e.g., hairdresser, barber, nail specialist, makeup)
