The Finance / Project Officer will manage the financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization meets its financial commitments.
- Liaise with the organisation’s Financial Consultant for reconciliation of the accounts.
Grant Management:
- Support in the procurement process.
- Track and report on the financial aspects of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and reporting requirements.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in provision of financial analysis and recommendations to the President and the Admin Committee.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic budget reviews and financial forecasts.
Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and NGO financial standards.
- Coordinate and support external audits, and implement audit recommendations.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
Properly documenting transactions and financial records while maintaining confidentiality and security.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
A professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting, preferably within an NGO.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
Good command of English and Arabic.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- The Finance Officer will work part-time 3 days a week at LAH”s Office.
