Finance Officer

The Finance / Project Officer will manage the financial aspects of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization meets its financial commitments.
  • Liaise with the organisation’s Financial Consultant for reconciliation of the accounts.

Grant Management:

  • Support in the procurement process.
  • Track and report on the financial aspects of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and reporting requirements.

 

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

 

  • Assist in provision of financial analysis and recommendations to the President and the Admin Committee.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic budget reviews and financial forecasts.

 

Audit and Compliance:

 

  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and NGO financial standards.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, and implement audit recommendations.

 

Record Keeping and Documentation:

Properly documenting transactions and financial records while maintaining confidentiality and security.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

 A professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.

 

Experience:
At least  5 years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting, preferably within an NGO.

 

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

 

Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
Good command of English and Arabic.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

 

  • The Finance Officer will work part-time 3 days a week at LAH”s Office.
