Health Program Coordinator

The Health Program Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the project coordinators, health field coordinators, and Amel’s Health Department. S/he will be responsible for the supervision of the health and mental health projects implemented at Amel to improve the quality of care. S/he will provide support to the health project and technical coordinators to harmonize and standardize processes, tools, and guidelines in the PHCCs, mobile units, and homecare teams. S/he will supervise all emergency responses, including emergency preparedness and contingency. The Health Program Coordinator will support the management and the project coordinators in the development of concept notes and proposals. S/he will also be responsible for implementing Amel’s vision and objectives for the health sector.

The Health Program in 2025 is implementing 17 projects, with more than 700 staffs.

The Health Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining regular contract with all partners, including the Ministry of Public Health, UN agencies and other national and international NGOs, partners and donors.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Quality assurance of health program activities
  • Oversee the quality of implementation of all health and mental health activities
  • Ensure internal harmonization within the health and mental health activities
  • Review all reports prepared by the field staff and provide feedback to the team
  • Work with the M&E team to ensure sound data collection and information management are in place for performance analysis and programmatic action based on data and identified needs
  • Contribute to the development of lesson learning exercises and analysis of data
  • Develop concept note and other required documents for fundraising
  1. Project management
  • Overview the implementation of the projects as per the donors/partners' agreements
  • Ensure the timely submission of donor reports
  • In collaboration with the project coordinators, review the budget and actual expenditure
  • Monitor, evaluate, and suggest changes and improvements in the programme based on observations, feedback from the team, and the partners
  • Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and filing of all project’s activities in collaboration with the field teams and finance department
  • Develop a budget and forecast, and review the financial reports in coordination with the finance team
  • Ensure the development of performance monitoring plan with the project’s coordinators
  • Work closely with procurement, finance and HR departments
  1. team management and capacity building
  • Support the Health project coordinators through direct supervision
  • Perform regular monitoring visits to the field to assess gaps, challenges, and follow-up on recommendations
  • Develop the staff capacity building plan in coordination with the project and field coordinators
  • Supervise the health team’s adherence to internal policies and practices
  1. Representation and coordination
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate with MoPH and NGO partners to ensure complementarity of Amel’s health strategy within the broader humanitarian sector
  • Meet with Amel potential and actual health donors
  • Participate in the organization of technical reviews and technical missions.
  • Participate in Health Working Groups meeting and other relevant coordination meetings
  • Arrange regular meetings with donors and partners to discuss the program implementation

EDUCATION DEGREE DETAILS:

  • Master in Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences or any other relevant fields
  • Five years’ experience in coordinating and managing health projects
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills;
  • Good communication, teamwork and leadership skills   
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment;
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases and Microsoft Office.

Experience:  5 to 7 years

Languages: ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Fluent, FRENCH LANGUAGE is an asset, ARABIC LANGUAGE is an asset
