Detailed Job Description

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization with a focus on efficiency, quality, and impact.

Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the management team, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with strategic priorities.

Lead the formulation, coordination, and execution of financial and budgetary activities to support operational needs, ensure compliance, and maximize donor and partner engagement.

Chair and guide the upper management team to align strategic objectives with operational execution.

Appoint and supervise department heads, assign clear responsibilities, and evaluate their performance to ensure excellence in leadership across all functions.

Oversee the development and implementation of internal policies and organizational objectives that drive Nusaned’s mission and strategic vision.

Monitor and evaluate organizational operations and programmatic performance to identify opportunities for cost optimization, quality enhancement, and policy reform.

Develop, present, and execute strategic proposals, reports, and updates for the Board to support informed decision-making.

Ensure the Board is regularly updated on key challenges, organizational risks, and opportunities with transparent and data-driven reporting.

Strengthen and maintain internal control systems and organizational risk management frameworks across departments and programs.

Establish robust succession planning, workforce development strategies, and leadership pipelines within the organization.

Work closely with the Board of Directors to align on key policy directions, institutional fundraising efforts, and overall visibility.

Lead the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan and oversee the preparation and execution of the annual operational budget.

Serve as the official spokesperson for Nusaned, representing the organization in the media, at events, and with stakeholders.

Build and maintain strategic partnerships and networks with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and community groups to support mission advancement.

Ensure timely reporting from department heads and provide supportive oversight and guidance.

Establish and uphold HR, administrative, and operational policies in coordination with the Head of Operations, ensuring compliance with local labor law, international standards, and organizational policies.

Ensure organizational accountability through clear performance monitoring, periodic reporting, and donor compliance.

Review and authorize contracts, MOUs, and service agreements, safeguarding the organization's legal and financial interests.

Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by the Board of Directors.

Reports to: Board of Directors

Supervisory Responsibility: All Heads of Departments

Collaborates and Works with: Internal and External Auditor,, Donors, Partners, Legal Counsel, and Key Stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Minimum 10–15 years of progressive senior leadership experience in the non-profit or humanitarian sector, including at least 5 years in an executive or director-level position.

MBA or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, International Development, or related field is required; a Ph.D. is an asset.

Demonstrated success in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight in complex and fast-paced environments.

Proven track record in resource mobilization, donor engagement, and successful fundraising strategies.

Expertise in financial planning, budget oversight, and donor reporting, with strong command of financial accountability standards in the NGO sector.

Strong background in governance and policy implementation, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors and fostering a collaborative governance culture.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and inspire internal teams and external stakeholders.

Fluency in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional public speaking and media representation skills.

Deep understanding of humanitarian principles, sustainable development goals, and local socio-political context.

High integrity, transparency, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to servant leadership.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Familiarity with digital tools, project management software, and data-driven decision-making is a plus.
