Call for a Branding consultant- REAF

Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.   

 

The Rural Entrepreneurs in Agri-Food (REAF) program aims at strengthening the business and product viability of innovative startups tackling sustainable rural economic development operating in South Mount Lebanon, Central and West Bekaa, Southern Baalbeck and Hasbaya. The program will provide the startups with tools to transform their ideas into sustainable and profitable businesses. REAF’s youth training will enhance their entrepreneurship mentality and entry into the job market.  

The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics:  

  1. A disruptive scientific or technological focus in agri-food, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, waste management and valorization.  
  1. The possibility to scale in the local market and beyond that.  
  1. The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally.  
OBJECTIVES
  • Empower the 11 startups within this cohort with the knowledge and skills to develop an effective brand strategy and brand narratives.
  • Provide personalized guidance through one-on-one clinics to assist the startups in preparing a detailed plan for the implementation of their brand, including recommendations for ongoing brand management and adjustment.
Scope of work

The REAF Program seeks a branding expert to meet the following requirements:

  • Conduct a workshop on branding for the 11 participating startups, covering topics such as brand audit, brand strategy, brand identity, storytelling, brand communication, and recommendations for ongoing brand management and adjustment.
  • Provide one-on-one clinics tailored to the needs of each startup, offering personalized guidance in developing their unique brand strategies.
  • Assist startups in defining their brand positioning, values, and messaging.
  • Guide the startups in creating brand visuals, including logos, color schemes, and visual assets.
  • Advise the startups in crafting compelling brand narratives and communication plans.
  • Help startups develop a cohesive and impactful brand presence across various channels with recommendations for brand management.
  • Conduct pre-engagement and post-engagement briefings with the Berytech team to align strategies and objectives.
expected Deliverables
  • Conduct a workshop on branding for the 11 REAF startups on a date to be agreed upon with the program team.
  • Provide a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 22 hours of one-on-one clinics (60-minutes each) to the startups, with a distribution of hours to be agreed upon, to address their individual branding challenges, guide them in developing effective brand strategies, define their brand identities (including logos, color schemes, and visual assets), and support them in crafting compelling brand narratives and communication plans.
  • Assist the startups in developing a detailed plan for the rollout of the new branding, including:
  • A document defining the startup’s brand identity based on their product positioning and their competitive landscape
  • Online presence and brand management plan
  • Online and offline marketing content plan for the next 6 months
  • Provide comprehensive content and materials that will be used by the entrepreneurs after attending the workshop. These materials will include detailed information presented during the workshop, additional readings for the startup to research and understand the topic more, suggested links and sources on the topic...etc. All these materials should be uploaded in coordination with the Berytech team to make them accessible for startups.    
  • Conduct preparatory meetings with the Berytech Team to align the content of the workshop as well as the approaches and responsibilities under this agreement.
  • Submit a written report to the Berytech team outlining the progress and status of each startup, including recommendations for further improvement.
Qualifications
  • Experience in branding, marketing, or related areas, with an associated academic background.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing brand strategies for start-ups or early-stage businesses.
  • Ability to lead workshops with multidisciplinary teams and support everyone’s style and growth.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking in brand development.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and branding tools is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical execution.
  • Availability to commit to the program timeline and deliverables.

Your financial proposal should include a lump sum fee for the workshop and an hourly rate for the 1on1 clinics.
