Emergency Third-Party Monitors (Baalbak and Hermel)

The Community Kitchen Initiative is a targeted program aimed at improving food security and providing essential nutritional support to internally displaced populations. The initiative aims to provide daily meals to displaced persons (DPs) residing in shelters, ensuring that the food delivery process is streamlined, inclusive, and sustainable. The scope of the initiative includes designated shelters with a focus on ensuring equitable food distribution, meeting nutritional requirements, and enhancing collaboration among stakeholders.

The Emergency Monitor will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Conduct daily visits to the kitchen and nearby shelters for monitoring purposes.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the community kitchen operations.
  • Review and verify the quantities, and the quality of items delivered to school kitchens, ensuring they are aligned with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen focal point to approve fresh commodity purchases and quantities based on the approved item list every day.
  • Provide regular reports on progress and key challenges.

Qualifications                                                        

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring items are correctly monitored and tracked.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with spreadsheets for reporting.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting and coordinating.

Experience:  

  • 0 to 1 year.
  • 1 year of experience working with an NGO and humanitarian field is a plus.
