Solidarités International (SI) is an international NGO working with vulnerable populations, primarily victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specialized for nearly 40 years in addressing vital needs, SI leads emergency response and reconstruction programs with a strong commitment to respecting local cultures and working closely with affected communities.
Operating in 18 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America, SI deploys a team of approximately 270 expatriates and nearly 2,200 local staff. Its interventions focus on combating diseases linked to unsafe water, as well as ensuring food security and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
In Lebanon, SI runs programs in the sectors of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Food Security, Livelihoods, and Agriculture, targeting both refugees and vulnerable members of host communities in rural and urban areas. Key activities include:
- Distribution of cash for food, ready-to-eat meals, and food parcels
- Nutrition awareness sessions
- Technical and in-kind support for Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)
- Capacity building for farmers in environmentally friendly practices through Farmer Field Schools (FFS)
- Training in agricultural business practices through Farmer Business Schools (FBS)
- Strengthening market linkages between farmers and processors
- Provision of agricultural inputs
SI maintains operational offices in Beirut, North &Akkar, South, Bekaa & Baalbeck El Hermel governorates.
As part of its mission to empower farmers, SI works to support the ongoing shift in farmers’ behaviors toward more eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices. In the short term, it is done by ensuring farmers and households have access to agricultural inputs through the distribution of kits containing agricultural tools. These kits, along with training on good and sustainable farming methods, help promote the adoption of environmentally friendly practices and support preparation for the upcoming planting season. The purpose of the CFQ is to seek an input supplier or several inputs suppliers, prioritizing local providers, having an extensive experience in providing high quality pest control agents and biofertilizers from the Lebanese market.
The service provider is required to supply high-quality biofertilizers and pest control agents, in line with seasonal requirements and upon request.
