Scope of responsibility:

Assisting in the nursing activities with hospitalized patients, according to nurses and doctors prescription, universal hygiene standards and MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients.

Function responsibilities include:

• Assisting the nurse in organizing and providing care and treatments to patients, respecting at all times, the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity, medical secret and patient confidentiality.
• Participating in the monitoring of dispensing and nursing activities (correctly fill in patient cards, etc.) and ensuring a relevant transfer of information between MMU teams.  Reporting any problem arising during the MMU activities especially the loss, robbery or damage of equipment or medicines.
• Ensuring cleanliness of his/her working environment (including station, material, linen, equipment, etc.)
• Participating actively in the MMU meetings, trainings and in the basic health education sessions
• Participating in any other related activities as requested by the line manager
• Performing minor maintenance and cleaning of the biomedical equipment following user manual and protocols. Alerting the supervisor in case of malfunctioning of any device.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

• Performing drug dispensing during the MMU activities
• Suporting patients’ health education and literacy
• Asiting with nursing duties and preparations for the MMU activities

Requirements

Education

• Nurse-aide diploma required (if there is one recognised by the country, otherwise none is required and MSF training is provided)

Experience

• None is required.
• Previous MSF experience is an asset

Languages

• Essential: Full professional proficiency using the Arabic Language
• Desirable: Elementary to limited professional proficiency using the English and French Language

Knowledge

• Essential: Elementary to limited knowledge of MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
