Location : Bekaa - Bar Elias 

Reports To : LS Coordinator

Job Purpose : The Learning Support (LS) Program aims to strengthen the academic abilities of children aged 6–14 who are currently enrolled in formal education but need additional academic assistance in core subjects (Arabic, Math, English/French, and Science). The program supports students to stay in school, improve their academic performance, and enhance their self-confidence and motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Planning & Delivery

• Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate LS sessions based on the approved curriculum and students’ academic needs.
• Tailor lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and individual education levels.
• Set clear objectives for each class and track learning outcomes.
• Integrate interactive and inclusive teaching methods to support student engagement.

2. Student Assessment & Follow-Up

• Conduct baseline assessments to identify students' learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and document performance throughout the cycle.
• Provide regular feedback to students and caregivers to support learning at home.
• Follow up on irregular attendance or academic challenges with parents/caregivers when needed.

3. Classroom Management

• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and active learning.
• Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and routines.
• Promote student participation and ensure equal learning opportunities for all.

4. Material Preparation & Resource Use

• Prepare or adapt learning materials based on the curriculum and students’ levels.
• Effectively utilize educational resources and tools provided by the program.
• Coordinate with the Academic Supervisor and Coordinator for any needed materials or support.

5. Protection & Child Safeguarding

• Follow Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy at all times.
• Identify and refer students with protection concerns or psychosocial needs to the Protection Team.
• Ensure the classroom environment promotes well-being, dignity, and safety for all learners.

6. Communication & Coordination

• Attend weekly teacher meetings, trainings, and workshops.
• Report regularly to the Education Coordinator on student progress, challenges, and needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to maintain program quality and consistency.
• Provide input on improving teaching approaches or identifying gaps in curriculum delivery.

7. Administrative & Reporting Duties

• Accurately complete and submit attendance sheets and assessment records on time.
• Support in registration and outreach efforts when needed.
• Document and report any incidents or irregularities in class to the LS Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in teaching or learning support, preferably with vulnerable or refugee children.
• Familiarity with the Lebanese school curriculum and challenges faced by at-risk learners.
• Excellent classroom management skills and ability to adapt to different academic levels.
• Fluency in Arabic; English or French is an asset.
