Acting WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, conducted a productive one-day official visit to South Sudan, aimed at strengthening health support amid the ongoing multiple emergencies. During the visit, Dr Ihekweazu engaged with key stakeholders, including the Acting Minister of Health, Honorable James Hoth Mai, humanitarian partners led by Marie Helene Verney, Acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator, and Timo Olkkonen, European Union Ambassador to South Sudan. The visit marked a significant step forward in WHO’s partnership with South Sudan and development partners in addressing urgent health needs.
