Food Processing Coach

LOST is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Food Processing Coach to deliver hands-on and theoretical training to employees in food manufacturing and processing environments. The coach will be responsible for developing training materials, conducting sessions, and ensuring that all personnel adhere to food safety standards, quality control procedures, and best practices in food handling and production.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom and on-the-job training on food processing techniques, hygiene, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and update training materials, manuals, visual aids, and assessment tools tailored to specific food production processes.
  • Train employees on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance.
  • Evaluate trainees’ performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure that all training activities align with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance and production departments to identify skill gaps and training needs.
  • Maintain accurate training records and provide reports on training effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in food processing, food manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Experience in training or instructing adults in a production or technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO 22000, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt training to different learning styles and literacy levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other presentation tools.
  • Certification in food safety or training (e.g., ServSafe, HACCP) is preferred.
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or related field is a plus.

  • Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish, French, or other local languages)
  • Attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
 

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a production plant and classroom environment
  • May require standing for extended periods and working in cold or hot areas
  • Occasional travel between company facilities or to training sites may be required
