Supply of livestock

The purpose of this Call for Tender is to identify one or more input suppliers, preferably locals who have extensive experience in supplying high-quality sheep, and goats. Selected suppliers will contribute to SI’s efforts by ensuring the timely availability of these critical inputs to beneficiary HH.

Goat

Milk breed: Baladi, Shami (Preferable)
Estimated Milk yield: 2 to 4 liters per day during lactation season 
Age: Between 6 months and 1 year
Vaccinated against diseases like enterotoxemia and food and mouth disease, PPR, Pox,
Good health
The goat should have a complete set of teeth in good condition and free from any oral health.

The Sheep should have a complete set of teeth in good condition and free from any oral health.

  1. Transportation
  • Suitable Transport Vehicles: Use clean, well-ventilated vehicles with non-slip flooring to avoid injury during movement. Vehicles must be appropriately sized for the species and number of animals.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Do not overload the vehicle. Overcrowding increases stress and risk of injury. Follow recommended space per animal based on size and species.
  • Provide Shade and Ventilation: Protect animals from direct sunlight and ensure good airflow, especially in hot weather. Avoid transporting during extreme heat hours
  • Feed and Water: Provide access to water before transport and plan for stops if the journey is long (over 2 hours). Avoid feeding animals immediately before transport to reduce motion sickness.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Carry basic first aid supplies and have a plan for emergencies (injury, breakdown, etc.).

 

 

  1. Delivery and Receiving Process
  • The supplier shall coordinate delivery schedules with SI field teams prior to dispatch.
  • Delivery acceptance is subject to full compliance. Any non-compliant animal shall be replaced by the supplier at no additional cost
  • Upon delivery, each shipment will be subject to inspection by SI authorized staff including:
  •  Quantity verification against purchase order and packing list.
  •  Compliance verification of the technical specifications.

 

 

  1.  Warranty and After-Sale support

 

The supplier warrants that all animals supplied are free from any disease or injuries.

Any defective or non-compliant animal identified after delivery shall be replaced promptly at no extra cost.

Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders included in the Tender Documents.

Sealed Envelopes must be brought to: Solidarités International Beirut office, located in Beirut, Badaro, Military Hospital Street, Ghattas bldg. (known as Bank Audi bldg.) 1st floor.
