Background:
The livelihood project aims to enhance workforce participation and employability by creating job opportunities for the most vulnerable groups and capacitating the vulnerable population through community-based activities and vocational training. As part of the projects’ activities, the social worker will be responsible for the smooth implementation of the project in BML or South Lebanon, in close coordination with the project coordinator.
Project activities will include provision of skills training, life skills, psychosocial support and support to income-generating activities.
Task 1: Planning and implementation responsibilities:
- Implement outreach activities to identify potential beneficiaries as per project’s target requirements;
- Collect and map out data for available services under the livelihood sector;
- Conduct Life skills and Community-Based Psycho-Social Support in the community center
- Create and manage community groups at the center;
- Plan and organize community-based and social cohesion events through community outreach and mobilization.
Task 2: Monitoring, Reporting and Referral
- Create and maintain an archiving filing system for beneficiaries’ data and M&E tools;
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports of project activities against target;
- Conduct pre and post surveys with the beneficiaries;
- Conduct FGDs with the beneficiaries and trainers;
- Ensure safe identification and referral for beneficiaries to internal case management and external service providers;
- Collaborate closely with M&E focal point;
- Ensure proper follow-up on attendance sheets for beneficiaries and trainers.
Other tasks
- Respect and Abide to the organizations internal code of conduct
- Represent Amel Association, when requested and is necessary;
- Attend and participate in local and capacity building events as needed/Actively participate in training throughout the year
- Be available to attend and participate in internal and external meetings;
- Meetings with other program staff is required and will be on a timely basis;
- Maintain positive relations with other team members;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;
- Other duties as Assigned by the field officer and project coordinator.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in a social development related field, (psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation) is preferable;
- Excellent communication skills, collaboration and teamwork;
- Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in utilization of databases and Microsoft Office;
- Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing;
- Candidates must have skills in working with people of all ages and social groups;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility;
- High integrity in social interactions;
- Skilled at working with local communities and authorities;
- Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.);
- Familiar with core principles of Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standard
