Awareness Raising Facilitator

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries.  Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours).  Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training.  All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Understand the key protection risks relevant to the audience
  • Develop clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate session materials.
  • Tailor the content to the target group knowledge level, language, and context.
  • Prepare interactive activities to engage participants.
  • Deliver the awareness sessions in a clear, respectful, and engaging manner.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment where participants feel comfortable sharing.
  • Use participatory methods to encourage interaction and discussion.
  • Monitor group dynamics and manage any sensitive topics or emotional reactions carefully.
  • Clearly explain what protection risks are and why they matter.
  • Highlight key protection risks such as exploitation, abuse, discrimination, trafficking, and others relevant to the context.
  • Provide information on how to identify risks and report concerns safely.
  • Empower participants with knowledge about their rights and available support mechanisms.
  • Know and communicate the referral pathways for protection concerns.
  • Guide participants on the existing referral mechanisms, and available services.
  • Collect feedback from participants to assess understanding and effectiveness.
  • Report on session attendance, challenges, and any protection concerns identified.
  • Adapt future sessions based on lessons learned and feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect participants’ privacy.
  • Respect cultural sensitivities and avoid causing harm.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and ensure personal safety and that of participants.

Professional Standards:

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Community Development, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
  • Training in child protection, psychosocial support, or mental health is a strong asset.
  • Experience in facilitating awareness sessions, community outreach, or education programs.
  • Proven experience working with diverse communities, particularly vulnerable or marginalized groups.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of protraction risks and local context.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, gender, and protection issues.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
  • High integrity and respect for confidentiality and child safeguarding.
