Nurse MMU - Jbeil Batroun

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing health care to the beneficiaries in the concerned villages.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Record basic information on individual patient health card.

• Provide nursing care to all the patients according to appropriate protocols.

• Dispenses requested medication with the needed instruction and information to the patient treatments according to doctor’s prescription.

• Implement and strictly follow universal precautions for COVID 19 when performing duties (gloves, clothes, disposal of medical waste, hand washing procedures).

• Collect and fill patient’s medical history, allergies, vital signs, physician diagnosis, etc.

• Implement and strictly follow universal precautions for any contagious disease when performing duties (e.g., use of gloves, protective clothing, proper disposal of medical waste, and hand washing procedures).

• Assisting the doctor during consultations and coordinate the care plan with the physician.

• Documenting care provided in patient medical record and keeping them updated.

• Performs timely Data entry on electronic system.

• Provide health education to patients.

• Awareness and knowledge of referral options and pathways.

• Manage drug stocks, ensuring accurate inventory and proper storage conditions.

• Ensure that medical equipment is properly operated and maintained and ensure supply needs for the MMU operations.

• Follows the prescheduled itinerary, and communicates to the coordinator gaps and needs in new villages.

• Act actively with the project coordinator in order to meet project requirements.

• Coordinates with the municipality in order to facilitate and optimize the routing and visits of the Units.

• Adhere to Ministry of Health policies and procedures in all nursing practices.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development as mandated by the Ministry of Health.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in line with Ministry of Health guidelines.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as outlined by the Ministry of Health.

• Respect medical confidentiality at all times.

• Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures.

• Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.

• Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls.

• Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills & Competencies

• License to practice in Lebanon + syndicate.

• 2-3 years of relevant experience.

• Experience working with NGOs is helpful, but not mandatory.

• Microsoft office – all applications.

• High ethical standards.

• Strong skills in communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in challenging conditions.

• Ability to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the MMU.

• Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.

• Fluent Arabic, French and English language skills Team Management.

• Provide on-going leadership and support to staff.

• Conduct timely performance evaluations and staff development.

• Recommend disciplinary action as needed following established policy.

• Control knowledge of procedures and ensure their strict implementation.

• Give clear responsibilities to the team.

• Provide assistance and organize good communication with the team.

• Organize and facilitates meetings as needed.

• Ensure the department staff is informed of the policy changes.

• Organize and maintain departmental communication system that encourages staff participation.
