Volunteer ( 5 vacancies)

Role Purpose

The Volunteer supports INARA’s emergency and ongoing response for children affected by the recent conflict in Lebanon. The role focuses on proactive case finding (through phone outreach and home visits), referral to medical and mental health services, and close follow‑up until recovery and discharge. Volunteers work under the supervision of the Case Management Officer (CMO) and in coordination with INARA’s contracted hospitals and MHPSS teams to ensure safe, timely, and quality services for children and their caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

1) Outreach & Case Identification

  • Conduct targeted phone calls and home visits to identify conflict‑affected children in need of medical or mental health support.
  • Use INARA’s screening tools to verify eligibility and immediate needs.
  • Apply Do‑No‑Harm principles and culturally sensitive engagement; obtain informed consent/assent as per INARA protocols.
  • Map and liaise with community leaders, municipalities, schools, shelters, and CBOs to widen referral pathways.

2) Referral & Service Navigation

  • For medical needs: promptly refer candidates to INARA’s Case Management Officer for primary and detailed assessments, and support appointment scheduling at INARA‑contracted hospitals/clinics.
  • For mental health needs or psychosocial distress: initiate referral to INARA’s MHPSS team for further assessment, psychosocial support, and therapy as indicated.
  • Provide clear information to caregivers on the care pathway, timelines, rights, and responsibilities.

3) Follow‑Up & Case Monitoring

  • Maintain regular contact with the child/caregiver (calls, messaging, home visits) to monitor progress, barriers to access, adherence to treatment, and protection concerns.
  • Accompany families to health facilities when needed; coordinate transport logistics per policy.
  • Report any deterioration, safeguarding concerns, or urgent needs immediately to the CMO.

4) Documentation & Data Quality

  • Complete accurate case notes, visit forms, referral forms, and follow‑up checklists on the same day of activity using INARA tools (paper or digital).
  • Safeguard personal data in line with INARA’s Data Protection & Confidentiality Policy.
  • Support the CMO in compiling case files for medical board/hospital assessment and for discharge.

5) Coordination with Hospitals & MHPSS Teams

  • Liaise with focal points at contracted hospitals to confirm appointments, admissions, procedures, and discharge plans.
  • Coordinate with MHPSS staff to align psychosocial interventions with the child’s medical treatment plan when relevant.
  • Participate in case discussions/case conferences when invited.

6) Safeguarding, PSEA & Child Protection

  • Uphold INARA’s Safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policies at all times.
  • Identify and escalate any protection risks or incidents through established reporting channels.
  • Ensure child‑friendly, survivor‑centered, and non‑discriminatory approaches in all interactions.

7) Training & Capacity Building

  • Attend mandatory induction and refresher trainings (safeguarding, PSEA, data protection, child protection, first‑line psychological first aid, community outreach, IPC, and basic health literacy).
  • Participate in on‑the‑job coaching/mentorship by the CMO and program staff.
