Social Worker

 

Summary: 

The Social Worker will be responsible for conducting referral activities to meet the unique needs of each beneficiary in the targeted areas. 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Assess beneficiaries' needs, identify appropriate services, and facilitate connections to the needed services.
  • Make necessary and timely referrals to specialized services through RIMS and other platforms whenever needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right. 
  • Follow up on the referred cases to ensure their access to the right services.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of beneficiaries’ information, referrals, and follow-up actions.
  • Handle the distribution of food parcels to beneficiaries, following coordination with field staff.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments whenever required.
  • Hold regular coordination meetings with the field staff to follow up on the beneficiaries’ status.
  • Stay informed about available community resources and services and keep an up-to-date service mapping sheet.
  • Ensure timely reporting of the activities to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-motivated and initiative taker.  
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.

 

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ work experience in social work or case management.
  • Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage. 
  • Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage.

Project manager, Community nutrition and ECD educators, ECD facilitators, project supervisors, community IYCF &ECD counselors, lead mothers, malnutrition monitors and project area coordinators

 

Working Conditions

  • Stationed in the field
  • Visits to Beirut office for meetings, training and relevant paperwork.
  • It is preferable that candidates reside in the targeted area
  • The candidate should have his/her own car.
