Background
Mada Association, in partnership with Nation Station and with funding from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), is implementing an emergency food security project in Beirut Southern Suburbs. The project targets vulnerable households through food parcel distributions, accompanied by strong accountability and monitoring mechanisms.
To support implementation, Mada is recruiting 8 Enumerators to conduct field data collection during Validation Assessments. Enumerators will ensure ethical, accurate, and timely data collection in line with Mada’s data protection and safeguarding standards
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of Mada MEAL Manager will be in charge of collecting data across specific locations in Beirut Southern Suburbs from community focal points and vulnerable households. Eight enumerators will be recruited to conduct on-field and validation vulnerability assessments. Each enumerator will be hired for an average of 10 days.
Main Tasks
- Induction and training: Attend an induction meeting with Mada’s MEAL Manager and participate in a session on clean ethical data collection, digital tools (Kobo Toolbox), safeguarding, and conflict-sensitive communication.
- Field assessments: Conduct outreach and community engagement through door-to-door visits, filling out surveys to collect accurate data on household demographics, food security indicators (FCS, rCSI), and feedback on assistance received.
- Reporting and updates: Collaborate with the Project Manager on the progress of data collection and any challenges faced during the process (daily updates).
- Data verification: Conduct phone calls to verify collected data when necessary. If further validation is required, conduct additional field visits for validation purposes.
- Data submission: Submit accurate and complete data within specified timelines, adhering to quality standards in data collection including informed consent and data privacy.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- Resides in Beirut, with good knowledge of the Southern Suburbs.
- Full adherence to Mada’s mission and vision, as well as Ethics Code and PSEA policies
- Previous experience in data collection (familiarity with Kobo App preferred)
- Previous experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, especially in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in Arabic, good level of English
- Able to use a personal car and having a driving license.
- Able to use their phone number for conducting assessments, when needed.
Duration
The Enumerators are expected to start working in September 2025.
