Enumerator

1. Objectives of the Position

The primary objective of the Enumerator is to conduct the unified weatherproofing assessment for all eligible tents within informal settlements between September and October 2025, in Aakar and North Lebanon Governorates.

 

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection: Conducting thorough and accurate assessments of all eligible tents within informal settlements.
  • Documentation: Recording detailed information regarding the condition and requirements for weatherproofing each tent.
  • Coordination: Liaising with the project coordinator and supervisors to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Compliance: Adhering to project protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards during data collection and reporting.
  • Communication: Providing feedback and updates to project management regarding progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments.
  • Community Engagement: Communicate clearly with residents to explain the purpose of the assessment.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with fellow Enumerators and project team members to achieve collective project goals.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum: High school diploma (Baccalaureate or equivalent).
  • Language: Basic knowledge of English (reading and writing).
  • Previous experience in field data collection, surveys, or assessments.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development projects, preferably within informal settlements or refugee settings.
  • Weatherproofing/Construction Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with tent structures, shelter assessments, or basic construction would be beneficial.

 

4. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with vulnerable communities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording observations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in challenging environments.
  • Team spirit and ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel, smartphones/tablets for data entry).
  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable working outdoors for long hours and navigating informal settlements.

 

5. Expected Deliverables

  • Accurate and complete data for all assigned tents within informal settlements, using the unified shelter assessment tool.
  • Submission of daily activity logs summarizing the number of tents assessed, location, challenges faced, and any observations or trends.
  • Adherence to data privacy, consent protocols, and assessment guidelines throughout the assignment.
  • Confirmation of participation in pre-assessment training sessions and regular debriefings.
     

6. Terms and Conditions

  • Contract Duration: 2 months (starting September 1st, 2025)
  • Remuneration: USD 30 per day
  • Work Environment: The position requires daily travel to informal settlements and direct engagement with refugee communities.
  • Travel Arrangements: Travel to the field will be provided by the company car.
