Clinical Psychologist - Bekaa

Key responsibilities  

Accountability and Complexity 

  • Provide specialized mental health services to individuals, including S/GBV survivors, NCD patients, and other vulnerable groups referred by PHCC staff. 
  • Supervise PHCC staff trained in mhGAP to ensure proper detection and management of mental health cases. 
  • Conduct structured clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor psychological progress. 
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to review cases and ensure alignment with best practices. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical considerations are maintained in all interactions with beneficiaries. 
  • Conduct home visits when necessary to ensure accessibility to mental health services for beneficiaries unable to reach PHCCs. 

Clinical Interventions 

  • Provide individual and family mental health interventions and psychoeducation sessions. 
  • Facilitate group support sessions based on RI's curricula or WHO's PM+ or SH+ frameworks. 
  • Refer severe cases requiring psychotropic medication to psychiatrists. 
  • Offer crisis intervention and psychological first aid when necessary. 

 

Training and Capacity Building 

  • Deliver well-structured mental health training sessions for PHCC staff and community health workers. 
  • Provide ongoing supervision and mentorship to PHCC teams to enhance their capacity in mental health case management. 
  • Ensure clear and effective communication during training and outreach activities. 

Outreach and Coordination 

  • Conduct field visits jointly with the PHC satellite unit targeting displaced populations. 
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Community Health Workers for outreach activities and field-level assessments. 
  • Build and maintain networks with MH actors for effective referrals and service coordination. 
  • Ensure timely follow-up on referrals from field teams and external actors.

  • Ensures that behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies. 
  • Acts with integrity and holds themselves accountable for being respectful, inclusive and professional. 
  • Reports any concerns.
