Project Coordinator

General Purpose of the Position:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and programming of the Migrant Center, ensuring effective service delivery, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements. This role involves both general responsibilities for the management of center programs and services, as well as a particular focus on implementing and coordinating the Community-Based Protection Program. This role works closely with the Project Manager to ensure high-quality programming and to implement necessary improvements, supporting the Migrant Center’s overall mission of serving migrants and displaced individuals.

Main Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Program Implementation

  • Assist Project Manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of all activities and services at the Migrant Center.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to evaluate program effectiveness, identify challenges, and implement necessary improvements to enhance program impact.

2. Development and Implementation of Community-Based Protection Programs 

  • Provide mentorship and ongoing support to migrant-led organizations, assisting them with organizational development and addressing protection-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and social work team to ensure effective follow-up with organizations in the program.
  • Maintain relationships with migrant-led organizations and community leaders, and provide ongoing support to those who have completed our training.

3. Operational Coordination

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Migrant Center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across all activities.
  • Coordinate workflows, resources, and schedules to meet program objectives, ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure strict adherence to organizational policies and procedures, upholding high standards of delivery service.

4. Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with internal organizational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive, timely reports on program progress, challenges, and outcomes to the Project Manager.
  • Monitor and implement safety and safeguarding protocols for both staff and beneficiaries, ensuring a secure environment for all stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, UN bodies, NGOs, and local partners.

5. Team Management and Development

  • Line-manage the Center Administration Assistant, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive work environment, supporting staff development and capacity building in line with organizational goals.
  • Ensure the prompt and effective execution of any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager, within the scope of the position.

Qualifications, Skills, and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree social work, or a related field.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the humanitarian or NGO sector.
  • Proven experience in program coordination and management, with a strong understanding of service delivery to migrant and displaced communities.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools, reporting requirements, and project management software is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent listener, and an ability to approach complex situations with creativity and flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic is required; good command of written and spoken English is highly desirable.
  • Compassion and strong commitment for refugees and other displaced people.
