Area Coordinator - North, Jbeil and Keserwan

We are looking for an experienced Area Coordinator for North, Jbeil and Keserwan areas who will be responsible for coordinating the implementation activities of the World Food Programme (WFP) funded Lebanon school feeding project.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Project Coordination and Oversight

  • Serve as the primary focal point for coordinating and overseeing project activities in assigned areas.
  • Ensure daily project implementation aligns with approved proposals by consistently tracking progress and developments.
  • Monitor the schedules and performance of field staff to ensure timely and effective delivery of tasks.

Team Support and Capacity Building

  • Provide regular guidance, and technical support to project teams.
  • Conduct field visits regularly to supervise and evaluate on-the-ground activities.
  • Organize and lead periodic staff meetings to assess progress, address challenges, and share updates.
  • Deliver training sessions to area monitors, school kitchen coordinators, and other relevant personnel as needed.
  • Offer continuous support and training to field staff to ensure smooth and systematic distribution of oil and rice to children’s parents, including accurate data collection and stock management.

Monitoring and Quality Assurance

  • Coordinate with area monitors and school coordinators to ensure daily tasks are properly executed.
  • Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) department to ensure effective tracking of data collection (e.g., forecasts, attendance, surveys, and checklists).
  • Report food safety and quality concerns to the Food safety Officer and follow up to confirm that corrective actions are taken promptly.

Communication and Reporting

  • Maintain internal communication with project coordinators and other departments to ensure collaboration and consistency.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports detailing project challenges, accomplishments, and progress, in line with donor requirements and agreements with the project manager.
  • Notify the project manager of any major issues or risks that may impact program delivery.

Additional Duties

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
  • Skilled in report writing and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of food security norms and humanitarian standards.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Diplomatic, flexible, and a dynamic team player.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to field locations as needed.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English; French is an asset.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with NGOs or in the humanitarian sector is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in implementing food security programs is desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Must possess a valid driving license and have access to a personal vehicle.
