Community Assistant - Saida (Casual Worker)

 World Vision Lebanon (WVL) is committed to improving the well-being of children, their families, and communities, with a focus on the most vulnerable. Sponsorship is one of WVL’s core approaches, connecting children with sponsors who support long-term development in their communities.

To support the effective implementation of the sponsorship business process, WVL seeks to recruit a team of Community Assistants to provide flexible, field-based assistance in child monitoring, data collection, correspondence, and family engagement. The role is essential for ensuring high-quality and timely sponsorship operations, while upholding safeguarding standards and strengthening trust between WVL, children, families, and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Child Protection Technical Program implementation in the communities
  • Build positive and constructive relationships with children and community members.
  • Communicate effectively Sponsorship key message to children & families.
  • Ensure community understanding of sponsorship and respond to questions and concerns promptly and sensitively.
  • Support Development facilitator in managing the ongoing registration of children based on Child selection criteria.
  • Assist Development facilitator in ensuring that all registered children participate and benefit from the program operations together with other children.
  • Follow up on children with child well-being or child protection issues by timely reporting to DF.
  • h) Manage and follow up on child well-being cases as guided by DF.
  • Ensure accurate data entry via horizon mobile, quality and timeliness of data, correspondence and sponsorship business process.
  • Conduct regular visits to children as needed, to fulfill ongoing sponsorship communication requirements (letters, photos)
  • Report any child protection or safeguarding issue that violates the rights of the child or adult beneficiaries.
  • Report RC Migrations and death regularly within standard
  • Actively support Development facilitator in implementing program relevant to the assigned registered children number.
  • Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines.
  • Support the local child-care and protection for improved wellbeing of the children and empower CWB Committees. Attend trainings locally.
  • Abide WV Lebanon Safeguarding policy and behavior protocols and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Familiarity with the local culture and community dynamics (preferably from Saida area, with knowledge of citizens and households).
  • Basic digital literacy (mobile apps, data entry, communication tools).
  • Valid driving license and access to a car (preferred).
  • Proven experience in fieldwork in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Arabic; working knowledge of English is a strong asset (especially for transcription/translation).
  • Active listening skills and the ability to respond to beneficiary inquiries professionally.
  • Ability to gather information objectively and sensitively.
  • Familiarity with ethical research standards, including confidentiality, informed consent, and safeguarding (especially of children and youth).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines and in changing field environments.
