Inspirational Speakers - GIL Fab Labs - One-Time Visit

Context & Background

The Generation of Innovation Leaders (GIL) program is an initiative by UNICEF aimed at empowering youth in Lebanon through access to innovative, technical, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Through the GIL Fab Labs, youth are introduced to digital fabrication, problem-solving, and project-based learning.

As part of this initiative, GIL Fab Labs will host inspirational speakers, for one-time visits to share their personal journeys, experiences, and knowledge to motivate and inspire participating youth.

The subject of the session is Digital Fabrication and Design, and it is preferred that the speaker has a background in design, industrial or product design, engineering, or architecture.

Objective of the Engagement

To provide GIL Fab Lab youth beneficiaries with unique exposure to real-life stories and practical insights from professionals and changemakers across various industries. The aim is to inspire, motivate, and build connections between youth and Lebanon’s innovation ecosystem.

Scope of Work

• Deliver a 1 to 2-hour in-person talk or workshop at one of the GIL Fab Lab locations.
• Share a personal or professional journey that highlights innovation, resilience, creativity, or leadership.
• Engage in a Q&A session or interactive activity with the audience.
• Coordinate with the Fab Lab team to ensure alignment with program goals and audience interests.
• Support Fab Lab visibility by allowing excerpts of the visit to be featured in media content (e.g., photos, short interviews, social media posts).

Target Profile of Speakers

• Entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, artists, educators, technologists, or social innovators.
• Experience with youth engagement, public speaking, or mentoring is a plus.
• Willingness to deliver the talk in Sibline and actively engage with youth participants.

Logistics & Support

• Transportation support and logistics will be coordinated by Berytech and the Fab Lab team.
• Any material or tech requirements should be communicated in advance.
• The Fab Lab team will provide documentation support for media and outreach.
