Consultant- Life Skills and Peacebuilding

Role Summary

This consultancy aims to improve the current life skills curriculum, which is based on the Social Cohesion and Civic Engagement for Expression and Innovation, and to train 200 facilitators to deliver it to young people.

The Life Skills Consultant will develop and strengthen / adapt  life skills and peacebuilding capacities for youth participation and civic engagement. Responsibilities include creating curriculum materials, leading life skills training, training facilitators, and providing detailed reports on training sessions. The main goal is to enhance the life skills curriculum through effective and engaging sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery and Facilitation:

  • Review the existing life skills curriculum and the Adolescent Kit for Expression and Innovation.
  • Enhance and adapt the curriculum to fit the specific needs of the program and target audience.
  • Develop training materials and resources for facilitators.

Trainer Support and Development:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive training program for 200 facilitators.
  • Provide guidance and support to facilitators on implementing the curriculum effectively.
  • Develop assessment tools to evaluate the facilitators' understanding and ability to deliver the training.

Reporting:

  • Track and report on training sessions, including attendance, participant progress, and challenges.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve training effectiveness and participant outcomes.
  • Submit a final report detailing the curriculum enhancement process, training delivery, and recommendations for future implementation.

Deliverables:

  • Enhanced life skills curriculum based on the Adolescent Kit for Expression and Innovation.
  • Training materials and resources for facilitators.
  • Training program for 200 facilitators.
  • Assessment tools for evaluating facilitator training.
  • Progress reports and a final consultancy report.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in life skills training, curriculum development and peacebuilding activities.
  • Experience working with youth and implementing civic engagement programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Adolescent Kit for Expression and Innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
