About UTOPIA Association
UTOPIA Association is a community-based organization operating in North Lebanon since 2012. We work to foster holistic well-being, inclusion, protection, and resilience through community-driven approaches. Under the WPHF-funded project, UTOPIA is expanding access to sexual and reproductive health (SRHR) and mental health services for women, girls, and vulnerable individuals in underserved areas.
PURPOSE
The specialist will provide confidential, high-quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to women and girls, including consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and family planning support. Working closely with social workers and psychologists, the role ensures that beneficiaries—especially survivors of or those at risk of SGBV—receive integrated care. The Gynecologist will contribute to awareness-raising, referrals, and mobile outreach, ensuring accessibility for vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
Key Result Areas and Outputs to be achieved by the role:
- Provide individual gynecological consultations at Abjad Center and during mobile unit visits.
- Offer family planning services and counseling, including safe and culturally sensitive guidance.
- Support awareness sessions on SRHR topics in coordination with social workers.
- Participate in Rapid Needs Assessments (RNAs) by providing clinical input on SRH-related cases.
- Ensure timely referrals to hospitals, specialists, or advanced care when required.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, MEAL, and protection staff for integrated case management.
- Maintain confidential, accurate medical records and reporting aligned with ethical and safeguarding standards.
- Contribute to training sessions for staff and stakeholders on SRHR and women’s health.
- Participate in regular coordination meetings with project staff and local service providers.
- Carry out any other SRHR-related duties assigned by the Protection Manager or Senior Protection Officer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: gynecologist or midwife
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional practice in gynecology, preferably with vulnerable or displaced populations.
- Experience in SRHR programming, family planning, and women’s health counseling.
- Prior experience in humanitarian or NGO settings is a strong asset.
Language: Arabic and English
Technical Competencies
- Expertise in gynecology and family planning services.
- Knowledge of SRHR frameworks and clinical protocols in humanitarian settings.
- Ability to provide culturally sensitive SRH consultations.
- Familiarity with case management and referral systems.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and reports.
