PSS Facilitator

1. Background

The “Boosting Women’s Participation in Lebanon’s Public Sphere through Syndicate Leadership” project is about more than skills training—it is about creating space for both women and men in syndicates to thrive, lead, and support one another. In this phase of the project, 16 participants (11 women and 5 men) will join a program that blends leadership, negotiation, public speaking, and advocacy skills with a vital human dimension: psychosocial well-being.

Work can be a source of pride, but it can also be a source of stress, exhaustion, and pressure—especially when facing inequality or challenging workplace environments. This is why the project is introducing six dedicated Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions. These sessions will help participants understand workplace stress, learn healthy ways to cope, and, most importantly, recognize that solidarity—women and men standing together—is one of the most powerful ways to protect themselves and each other from workplace pressure.

2. Objective of the Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to design and deliver six engaging and supportive PSS sessions that:
- Address the emotional and psychological pressures of work.
- Equip participants with practical tools to manage stress.
- Build a sense of solidarity and mutual care between women and men.
- Create a safe space where participants can share experiences, learn from each other, and grow as leaders.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant/trainer will:
1. Design six interactive sessions using participatory activities—such as role plays, storytelling, relaxation techniques, and group problem-solving.
2. Facilitate open conversations on gender, equality, and the shared responsibility of creating healthy work environments.
3. Introduce solidarity-building exercises that strengthen trust, empathy, and cooperation among participants.
4. Provide tools participants can use beyond the training to manage stress and foster peer support.

4. Deliverables

The consultant is expected to provide the following:
1. Session plan and training materials: Prepared in Arabic, with facilitator notes available in either Arabic or English.
2. Delivery of six PSS sessions: Facilitation of six group sessions with 16 participants (11 women and 5 men).
3. Solidarity/self-care activity: At least one dedicated activity designed to strengthen networking, peer support, and collective well-being.
4. Participant feedback: Pre- and post-session feedback forms compiled and analyzed.
5. Final report: A summary report (in English or Arabic) documenting session content, participant feedback, lessons learned, and recommendations for future initiatives.

5. Qualifications

- Academic background in psychology, counseling, social work, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering psychosocial support, ideally in workplace or community settings.
- Experience working with mixed-gender groups.
- Skilled in participatory and trauma-informed approaches.
- Familiarity with Lebanon’s social and workplace dynamics.

6. Reporting & Coordination
