Midwife - Sin El Fil

SUMMARY

The Midwife is responsible for remotely assessing high-risk pregnancies, coordinating with contracted hospitals for delivery and neonatal care, and ensuring proper follow-up for beneficiaries, including referral to PHCCs for postnatal care. The Midwife is also responsible for related administrative tasks. 

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

•    Conduct remote assessments of high-risk pregnancies via phone.
•    Follow up on pregnancy cases and delivery outcomes in collaboration with the gynecologist.
•    Coordinate the referral of beneficiaries to contracted hospitals for delivery in coordination with the secondary health care coordinator.
•    Coordinate with hospitals in cases requiring neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission for newborns.
•    Refer beneficiaries to PHCCs for appropriate postnatal and newborn care.
•    Ensure proper documentation of all assessments and case details.
•    Support administrative tasks such as opening and managing beneficiary files and completing relevant forms and documentation.
•    Maintain beneficiary confidentiality and ensure services are delivered with dignity and respect.
•    Participate in awareness activities and maternal health initiatives when needed.
•    Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and continuity of care.

•    Ability to work independently and under pressure.
•    Empathy and cultural sensitivity.
•    Familiarity with maternal and neonatal care protocols.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor's degree in Midwifery.

•    3 years of experience in related field.
•    Experience with NGOs or community-based health programs is a plus.
•    Familiarity with high-risk pregnancies, NICU referrals, and postnatal care procedures.
•    Fluency in Arabic; English or French is an asset.
