Duration: 5 months (until December 2025)
Salary Range: 700$
 

Background

As part of UNICEF’s integrated approach to expanding lifesaving nutrition interventions, each Lead Partner is expected to designate one focal point to oversee and support the implementation of these activities across the sub-partners centers under their responsibility, with the goal of improving the nutritional status of children in the Palestinian camps and gatherings.

 

Task List

  • The Nutrition focal point will ensure that all sub-partners’ designated field nutrition focal staff are:
  • Equipped to deliver lifesaving nutrition services as per UNICEF protocols.
  • Are complying with reporting and monitoring requirements.
  • Supported with technical oversight and coordination.
  • Supported with the referral of cases in need for additional nutrition support services.
  • Provide support for capacity building plans and logistics to sub-partners’ designated field nutrition focal staff delivered by UNICEF on unified nutrition awareness modules.
  • Support with the integration of Nutrition awareness and into MHPSS activities.
  • Supported with facilitating and arranging for  Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) screening  of children  in centers
  • Frequent travel to various Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon (North, South, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and Baalbeck) to conduct scheduled onsite support visits to the project’s centre’s locations where the sub-partners designated field nutrition focal staff work.
  • Provide overall support and guidance to Lead Partner sub-partners’ designated field nutrition focal staff in the provision of informed nutrition awareness services. Conduct individual and group onsite meetings with the sub-partners’ designated field nutrition focal staff in regions across Lebanon as needed.
  • Ensure that services are delivered adhering to best practices, do no harm guiding principles, confidentiality, safety, respect, and non-discrimination, including safeguarding and other relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings, review, offer recommendations, and brainstorm durable solutions for challenges.
  • Assist in harmonization of relevant documentation and forms used and assist with sub-partners’ designated field nutrition focal staff familiarization with developed templates where applicable.
  • Write M&E reports and visit checklists, documenting key observations and recommendations.
  • Contribute to meetings and consultations, focus group discussions, working groups, partners, and other relevant stakeholders s assigned by the Programme manager where relevant.
  • Provide support work during emergency situations where relevant.
  • Data collection and reporting as needed.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Nutrition Services Coordination

  • Ensure that nutrition focal points at the center level are trained and performing their duties effectively.
  • Follow up on the delivery of awareness sessions, screenings and referrals.
  • Identify challenges, gaps, and needs from the field and escalate them to UNICEF – Palestinian Program.

Capacity Building

  • Support the organization and facilitation of nutrition training sessions for focal points and educators.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Review and validate reports submitted by center-based nutrition focal points.
  • Consolidate monthly updates and share them with UNICEF- PPL and lead partner.
  • Participate in periodic coordination meetings, field visits, data validation processes and reporting data on Activity Info database.

 

Coordination and Oversight

  • Serve as the main liaison between UNICEF, lead partner, and the implementing partner’s team for all nutrition-related activities.

Deliverables

  • Monthly reporting covering all centers under the lead partner.
  • Records of attendance of trainings, awareness sessions, screening, referrals and coordination meetings.
  • Summary of challenges and success stories from the field.
  • Recommendations for improving service delivery.
