JOB TITLE: GBV/Protection Training Consultant
DURATION & CONSULTANCY DAYS
- Consultancy Duration: Consultants will be engaged on a short-term assignment basis depending on training needs.
- Working Days: 1–3 days per week, subject to agreement.
- Renumeration: depending on the working days
- Location: Lebanon (with potential for online delivery when required).
ABOUT ABAAD
ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Training Consultant will be responsible for developing and delivering capacity-building sessions for ABAAD staff, partners, and stakeholders in one or more thematic areas. The purpose of this role is to strengthen organizational and individual capacities in line with ABAAD’s mission to promote gender equality, enhance safeguarding, and improve programmatic and institutional performance.
REPORTING LINES: The consultant will report and coordinate closely to the Capacity Building & Research development Program Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, adapt, and deliver interactive training sessions in one or more of the following areas
- Gender-based Violence (GBV) core concepts and intersectionality.
- Survivor-centered approach, case management, family mediation.
- Safe and ethical referral, inter-agency coordination, and GBV risk mitigation across sectors.
- Safeguarding, accountability, and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).
- Governance, inclusive leadership, strategic planning, risk management, and organizational sustainability.
- Business development, proposal writing, donor engagement, and compliance.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
- Human resources, staff care, and psychosocial support for frontliners.
- Visibility, communications, and social media presence.
- Develop or adapt training materials, manuals, and resources in line with ABAAD’s standards.
- Ensure a participatory and survivor-centered training approach that promotes inclusivity and safety.
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate knowledge acquisition and skill development.
- Provide training reports, including key findings, participant feedback, and recommendations.
- Deliver sessions in English and Arabic, as required.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Proven expertise and at least 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the above thematic areas.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to adapt training methodologies for diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
- Ability to prepare clear, well-structured training content and documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, accountability, and gender equality principles.
