Social Worker - Tripoli

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Social Worker at Basmeh & Zeitooneh, based in our Tripoli Center (Abu Samra).

Reporting To:

Directly: Project Manager

Technically: Protection Coordinator

Job Purpose:
Provide holistic support to clients navigating legal processes, acting as a bridge between the legal system and individuals or communities. Address the psychosocial needs that often accompany legal challenges.

Major Activities:

  • Conduct psychosocial support and awareness sessions for children and caretakers targeted by the project.
  • Assess, mitigate, and report protection risks during project implementation, specifying risks and implications for participants.
  • Provide protection guidance through individual and group sessions.
  • Report individual/household protection and non-protection issues identified during project activities.
  • Share key protection messages, including PSEA, rights, and available protection services, within B&Z and via external partners.
  • Organize and facilitate psychosocial support sessions for all participant groups, with a focus on children, women, and men.
  • Organize structured group skills-building sessions with caretakers to enhance children’s life, soft, and transition skills.
  • Identify behavioral changes or issues in children and make appropriate referrals to psychologists or specialized services.
  • Communicate regularly with case management and protection staff to update on achievements and challenges with children.
  • Monitor and assess the safety and security of children during sessions, reporting concerns to the Protection Program Manager.
  • Follow up on individual cases requiring intervention and advise the educational team accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly reports including referrals, awareness sessions, and psychosocial support activities.
  • Network with humanitarian organizations, institutions, and community services to support participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support children, caretakers, and program development.

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in sociology or psychology.
  • Minimum two years of experience in psychosocial support.
  • Experience working with organizations in relevant fields.
  • Participation in training/workshops on protection (child labor, domestic violence, SGBV, etc.).
