Development and Implementation of Key Species Action Plans for Ammiq Wetland

Please refer to the attached PDF

IndyACT, within the framework of the Ammiq 2030 project, is launching a consultancy to design and implement Key Species Action Plans (KSAPs) for three priority species of the Ammiq Wetland: the Ammiq barb (Garra festai), the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra), and the great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus).

The consultancy will build on previous ecological studies and focus on translating scientific findings into practical conservation measures. It will involve reviewing existing data, conducting rapid field validations, mapping habitats, and identifying key threats and mitigation options. The consultant or consortium will be responsible for producing comprehensive, evidence-based action plans that set clear conservation goals and practical steps for implementation.

Beyond plan development, the consultancy will also deliver training manuals, monitoring protocols, and at least one capacity-building workshop to equip wetland managers, staff, and community stakeholders with the skills needed to sustain conservation efforts. All work will be closely coordinated with the broader Ammiq 2030 project, ensuring integration with ongoing habitat restoration and water management strategies.
