RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Academic Support
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in English and Mathematics that cater to different learning levels.
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans aligned with the Lebanese curriculum.
- Use creative methods such as games, storytelling, group work, and visual aids to enhance student learning.
- Conduct baseline, midline, and endline assessments as well as ongoing quizzes/tests to track progress.
- Provide remedial sessions for struggling students to ensure no child is left behind.
- Integrate basic life skills into English and Math activities to promote holistic learning.
Student Supervision & Classroom Management
- Establish clear rules and routines to maintain order and respect.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom that supports both Syrian refugee and Lebanese students.
- Supervise students during recess, group activities, and educational trips.
- Identify and refer children with learning difficulties or psychosocial needs to the appropriate staff.
Parental & Community Engagement
- Participate in house visits with Outreach Officers to engage parents, follow up on student progress, and encourage caregiver involvement.
- Maintain open communication channels with parents/caregivers about student performance and attendance.
- Encourage a supportive home environment for learning (literacy, numeracy practice at home).
Safeguarding & Child Protection
- Always Adhere to ADRA Lebanon’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies.
- Ensure that children are safe, respected, and treated with dignity inside and outside the classroom.
- Report immediately any safeguarding concerns, suspected abuse, or child protection risks through the proper reporting channels.
- Commit to zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and discrimination.
Coordination & Reporting
- Work in close coordination with the Project Manager, Inclusion Officer, and Outreach Officer.
- Maintain accurate records on student attendance, academic progress, and behavioral observations.
- Prepare reports, success stories, and recommendations for program improvement.
- Attend training workshops and professional development sessions provided by ADRA.
- Perform any other tasks requested by the Project Manager aligned with program objectives.
Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience with children in primary grades.
- Strong knowledge of Lebanese curriculum (Grades 1–4).
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use digital tools for reporting, lesson planning, and assessments.
