HR Intern

About the Program:

B&Z’s Civil Society Enablement Program started in 2018 to support other initiatives and grassroots NGOs and CSOs, through capacity-building projects that target small community-based organizations to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to develop and ensure a sustainable future.

Job Purpose:

The HR Intern will support the HR team in day-to-day activities, contributing to HR operations, administration, and strategic projects. This internship aims to provide hands-on experience in core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.

Location: The position may be based in either Lebanon or Syria, depending on the selected candidate’s residence and organizational needs, with the possibility of travel between the two countries.

Strategic and operational:

A. Recruitment

  • Prepare job descriptions and post, update, or remove job ads on job boards, social networks, and careers pages.
  • Screen resumes, shortlist candidates, conduct pre-screening, and schedule interviews, assessments, and other selection activities with the Hiring Manager.
  • Communicate with candidates, including invitations, reminders, and regret emails.
  • Support the onboarding process, including collecting required documents, setting up employee files, and coordinating induction activities with line managers.

B. Administrative Support

  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and other HR-related documents as requested, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain and organize employee records and HR documentation to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and easy retrieval.
  • Respond to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.

C. Capacity Building & Employee Development

  • Support initiatives related to employee learning and development, including training coordination and tracking.
  • Assist in organizing workshops, mentorship sessions, or professional development activities.
  • Help monitor and document employee development progress and contribute to HR strategies that enhance staff skills and career growth.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in HR, administration, or office support is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, Microsoft Office, and basic office software.
