Education Field Officer (Maternity Leave Replacement)

Position Summary

The Field Officer is responsible for supervising and coordinating the implementation of education activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, quality standards, and organizational policies. The role covers staff supervision, outreach, referral pathways, coordination with stakeholders, and monitoring and reporting duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervision

  • Coordinate with the Field Coordinator and team members to design and adapt the schedule of activities throughout the project’s duration.
  • Ensure smooth implementation of project activities according to the timeline and daily team coordination.
  • Oversee capacity-building activities for team members, ensuring proper logistics and attendance in collaboration with the Field Coordinator.
  • Supervise logistic aspects of the project, including monthly inventories, distribution of learning and other kits, processing purchase requests, and coordinating rehabilitation/maintenance of the center when needed.
  • Conduct classroom observations in line with education department procedures in collaboration with the Field Coordinator and Learning Development Coordinator.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation through educators’ planning sheets, observation visits, and reporting tools.
  • Ensure adherence to the Child Protection Protocol by all team members and center staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of the MHPSS plan.

2. Outreach Activities

  • Support and follow up on outreach activities to engage beneficiaries.
  • Build trustful relationships with caregivers and community members with the support of the Social Worker.
  • Communicate challenges and difficulties expressed by parents regarding children’s education to the relevant team members.

3. Coordination

  • Coordinate with other Amel Community Center programs (Health, Protection, etc.) to enhance practices through experience sharing.
  • Develop Amel’s network with relevant stakeholders in the area to strengthen external referrals.
  • Coordinate with multiple sectors (schools, vocational service providers, municipalities, SDCs, etc.) to complement services.
  • Liaise with the Education Sector at the regional level under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and Field Coordinator (e.g., sector meetings, regular communication with partner NGOs).
  • Collaborate with coordinators to create a local mapping of service providers in the area.

4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Support the implementation of the project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan.
  • Contribute to data collection, including quantitative (attendance, education performance, outreach) and qualitative (focus groups, baseline/endline questionnaires) information.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports on activities, achievements, and challenges to the Project and Field Coordinators.
  • Draft additional narrative reports such as focus group results, community event reports, success stories, and distribution reports.

Other Responsibilities

  • Carry out any additional tasks required to support the education program and organizational objectives.

 

Qualifications Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in education or humanitarian fieldwork.
  • Experience in coordination, community outreach, and referrals.
  • Strong knowledge of Child Protection principles and safe referral mechanisms.
  • Excellent reporting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong supervisory and team coordination abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data management tools.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.

 

Working hours:

-2 days (morning shift): 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

-3 days (afternoon shift): 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
