1. Objective of the Assignment
To improve MSMEs’ honey quality, productivity, and processing standards through practical
and scientific methods of beekeeping and post-harvest management.
The expert will support MSMEs in:
● Enhancing bee colony health and seasonal management.
● Improving honey extraction and filtration techniques.
● Introducing quality control and testing procedures.
● Advising on packaging, labeling, and storage practices.
2. Scope of Work
● Deliver two one-on-one clinics per MSME (2 hours each) focusing on:
o Session 1: Hive and production management practices, disease prevention, and
harvest timing.
o Session 2: Honey products and processing optimization, filtration, packaging,
and quality testing techniques.
● Provide guidance on lab testing procedures and national honey quality standards.
● Recommend affordable tools and practices for quality enhancement and productivity
improvement.
3. Expected Deliverables
● Technical assessment, recommendations, areas of improvement and improvement plan
for disease management and hive optimization per MSME.
● Enhancement of honey processing and product optimization, including guidance for new
items development per MSME.
● Attendance sheets and pictures
4. Duration and Timeline
● Total MSMEs: 3
● Clinics per MSME: 2 one-on-one clinics per MSME (2 hours each)
● Implementation Period: 3 November – 28 November 2025
● Sessions will take place on-site at MSME premises in West Bekaa and/or South Baalbek.
5. Qualifications and Experience
● Degree or diploma in Beekeeping, Agriculture, or Animal Science.
● Minimum 10 years of experience in honey production and quality management.
● High Familiarity with Lebanese and international honey quality standards.
● Proven experience providing technical assistance to beekeepers or cooperatives.

7. Reporting and Supervision
The expert will report directly to the Project Manager at MDSF and coordinate closely with the
MDSF technical team for scheduling, on-site visits, and documentation review.
8. Payment Terms
● 100 % payment after completion of the one-on-one clinics, submission and approval of
all deliverables.
● Payments will be made via bank transfer or telegraphic transfer (TT), and a tax
deduction of 8.5% will apply in accordance with Lebanese law (Articles 41 & 42) if the
MOF documentation is not provided.
9. Submission Requirements
Applicants should provide:
● Updated CV or company profile
● Technical and financial proposal (cost per MSME or per clinic).
● Copy of MOF certificate and ID/registration.
10. Confidentiality
All MSME information is strictly confidential.
The expert shall not share or publish any data, documents, or findings without prior written
authorization from MDSF.
