Lebanon: Displacement Tracking Matrix: Mobility Snapshot - Round 88 (15 October 2025)

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducts regular monitoring of population movements in Lebanon to support preparedness and response efforts. This work is carried out in partnership with the Disaster Risk Management Unit, technically supported by the United Nations Development Programme, to triangulate and verify data from IOM’s mobility tracking exercise and the Lebanese Red Cross household registration exercise.

As of 03 October 2025, Mobility Tracking data indicates that 986,192 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have returned to their communities, indicating a less than one per cent increase from 981,490 reported since 31 May 2025. The total number of IDPs recorded stands at 64,417, reflecting a 22 per cent decrease compared to the previous round. Given the complexity of the context, these observed returns cannot be considered permanent and should be viewed as a snapshot in time.
