Position Summary
The Protection Social Worker will support the implementation of protection activities at community and center levels. The role focuses on conducting psychosocial support sessions, awareness activities, and life skills sessions for vulnerable individuals of all ages, while ensuring safe identification and referral of at-risk cases. The position aims to promote dignity, resilience, and access to essential services through a community-based protection approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
- Support the design and delivery of psychosocial support, awareness, and life skills sessions for women, men, youth, and other vulnerable groups.
- Lead recreational and empowerment activities that promote well-being, resilience, and social cohesion.
- Conduct outreach to identify and engage beneficiaries from targeted populations.
- Identify protection concerns and ensure safe, timely referral to internal and external service providers in line with protection principles.
- Maintain accurate records, fill out monitoring and evaluation tools, and ensure confidentiality of beneficiary information.
- Conduct follow-up visits and monitor evolving needs and vulnerabilities of referred cases.
- Mobilize communities and facilitate group discussions or community initiatives that promote safety and inclusion.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Protection team, facilitators, and Case Workers to ensure coordinated implementation.
- Liaise with AMEL centers, field teams, and partners to strengthen service coordination and referral pathways.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, capacity-building activities, and coordination meetings as required.
- Maintain strong working relationships with community stakeholders and focal points.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Capacity Building
- Use appropriate M&E tools (attendance, evaluation, and referral forms) to monitor activity implementation.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly activity reports to the M&E focal point or supervisor.
- Contribute to project narrative reports and documentation of challenges, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Attend relevant internal and external trainings to enhance knowledge and professional growth.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field (Degree in Gender Studies, Protection, or Development is a plus).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience implementing protection projects with NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
- Solid understanding of Protection principles, including confidentiality, safety, and non-discrimination.
- Knowledge of Child Protection, GBV, and PSEA guidelines and referral mechanisms.
- Experience facilitating PSS, awareness, or life skills sessions for diverse groups.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly, and within a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
