Position Summary
The Child Protection (CP) Social Worker will support the implementation of child protection activities in the community and center. The role involves providing psychosocial support, conducting awareness and life skills sessions, ensuring safe identification and referral of at-risk children, and promoting community engagement. The Social Worker will work closely with the Protection Team to ensure that services meet the best interests of children and align with national and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
- Work closely with the Protection and Case Management teams to plan, implement, and monitor project activities.
- Lead and facilitate psychosocial support, awareness, and life skills sessions for children and caregivers in centers and during outreach activities.
- Design and organize recreational and educational activities that promote children’s well-being and development.
- Identify children and families at risk and ensure timely and safe referral to appropriate internal or external services, following established SOPs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files and ensure proper documentation of activities, assessments, and referrals.
- Conduct regular home or community visits as needed to monitor children’s situations and follow up on identified cases.
- Mobilize community members and facilitate group activities that strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Collaborate with Social Workers, Case Workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Coordinate with AMEL centers, field teams, and relevant focal points to align efforts and avoid duplication.
- Participate in regular team and coordination meetings as well as external and inter-agency meetings when needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with local communities and partner organizations to enhance service accessibility.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Capacity Building
- Ensure proper use of monitoring and evaluation tools including attendance sheets, assessment forms, and feedback mechanisms.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the M&E focal point or supervisor in a timely manner.
- Support the collection of success stories, challenges, and lessons learned for project reporting.
- Attend capacity-building trainings, workshops, and online courses as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing Child Protection or related projects within NGOs or humanitarian settings.
- Solid understanding of Child Protection principles and child safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in facilitating PSS, awareness, and life skills sessions for children and youth.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team under pressure.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
