GRAPHIC DESIGNER FOR CURRICULUM DESIGN

BACKGROUND

Mada seeks a qualified Graphic Designer to work on the design of a developed curriculum under the AFD co-funded project ‘From Farm to Kitchen-Building a Resilient Food System in Lebanon’ implemented in partnership with CCFD-Terre Solidaire and Nation Station.

The project supports a transition to agroecology and improve access to food through (1) evidence generation to maximize production and profitability, namely through research and experimentation; (2) establishment of a pool of advocates and professionals in agroecology, mostly through training and awareness; and (3) expanding marketing channels for agroecology, through the establishment of a Community Kitchen in Tripoli to contribute to food security.

The aim of this mission is to design the layout and visual identity of Mada’s agroecology curriculum, which comprises 20 sessions totalling approximately 310 pages, including activities. The consultant will ensure that the overall design aligns with Mada’s visibility and branding guidelines, maintaining coherence across all sections. This includes developing an attractive and user-friendly layout, ensuring high-resolution visuals, and designing the cover and end pages. The final product should be print-ready and suitable for both digital and physical dissemination.

JOB SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer will be in charge of:

• Meeting with Mada to gather inputs that inform the overall design and layout of the curriculum.

• Reviewing the content structure and visual materials (photos, charts, and illustrations) to ensure proper alignment and coherence throughout the document.

• Designing the curriculum’s cover and end pages in line with Mada’s visibility and branding guidelines.

• Ensuring consistency in formatting, fonts, and colors, and verifying the resolution and quality of all images used.

• Proposing 2–3 design layout options for Mada’s review and feedback.

• Finalizing the selected design based on feedback from Mada.

• Supporting the preparation of printing specifications to ensure high-quality production that meets Mada’s visibility standards.

DELIVERABLES

- 2–3 proposed layout and design options (cover, inside pages, fonts, color palette, and visual style) for Mada’s review and feedback.

-Final approved design template aligned with Mada’s visibility and branding guidelines.

-Fully designed agroecology curriculum (around 310 pages / 20 sessions including activities) in print-ready and digital formats (PDF and editable version).

-Designed cover and end pages consistent with Mada’s visual identity.

-High-resolution visuals and optimized images throughout the document.

-Final design files and printing specifications prepared for high-quality production.

-Editable source files (InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent) submitted to Mada for future updates.

The first draft design should be submitted within two weeks following the contract award, and the full mission should be completed within three weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS

-University Degree or Technical Degree in Graphic Designing

-Strong practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, Adobe Illustrator, etc.

-Show a clear and mature style of design, demonstrating an understanding of the communication requirements of Mada

-Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management

-Working experience in development or humanitarian projects is desirable
